Good news all around! First, we are pleased to announce that we have reached the $100,000 mark! Thanks to everyone who has contributed. Let’s keep the momentum! Second, last month we sat down with the Chicago Park District planning and development team to discuss our proposal, which they are now taking under consideration. We hope to have more information about the size and scope of the proposed DFA soon. Our goal is to obtain final approval from CPD so we can present a proposed design to the community and confirm the cost to build. We will then have to raise additional funds.
To that end, please attend the Doggie Egg Hunt on March 26th and get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny, look for information to come regarding a Lagunitas fundraiser this summer as well as our second annual online auction this fall. And, of course, you can always go online and donate at hornerparkdogpark.org/donate. The Horner Park Advisory Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit so your donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
As a reminder, the currently fenced in area at the southeast corner of Horner Park is part of the Riverfront Restoration Project and is slated to become an Oak Savanna. The dog park would be just west, in the currently unfenced area. For regular updates, please follow us on Facebook. Thanks for your continued interest and support. See you at the Egg Hunt!
