Throw us a bone!
Work on Phase II construction is expected to begin in late October, 2020 and should be completed by the end of the calendar year. This will include installation of a paved entryway, water fountain, water feature, small dog area and benches. Thank you to all who have donated to date! In the last six years, we raised nearly $275,000. Unfortunately, bids came in considerably higher than expected during these times of COVID and we do not have enough money to complete the entire project. As such, we must now begin fundraising for Phase III, which will include the canine artificial turf play fields, outcropping stone, mulch, and other landscaping features. We also need funding for continued maintenance which is provided entirely by volunteer efforts. Whatever you can give would be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. With your help, we will reach our goal one dollar at a time. However, we have set up the following fundraising tiers to encourage you to donate as much as you can. Please note that the Horner Park Advisory Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donations will be tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Here’s How to Donate:
1. Donate via PayPal
Please note that if you would like your donation to remain anonymous or have your contribution dedicated to someone else or in memoriam, please contact us separately at info@hornerparkdogpark.org after making your donation, as PayPal does not have a system for communicating that request.
2. Donate via Venmo
3. Mail a Check

7. Contact the 33rd Ward’s Alderman
Menu funds are aldermanic discretionary funds used for neighborhood improvement within each ward. Contacting the office of Rossana Rodriguez (Ward 33) and expressing your desire to have her use some of these funds towards completion of the dog park, would give us a big step towards final fundraising.

Any plans to create separate areas for small and big dos? Walsh park on Ashland just did that.
Our ideal plans would include a small dog area.
YES!
Idea for donation:
Selling engraved pavers like they have at Wrigley Field? Will help pay for the pavers you are already planning to install in Phase 2 and will enable people to memorialize their pets/loved ones at the park.
We have been looking into this and hope that it’s an option for us! It depends on what the parks district will allow us to do.
Thanks for the great idea Samantha! This is something that we have been talking about for awhile and have already begun looking into. Unfortunately, we cannot start the process until we have approved construction drawings. We may need to install permeable pavers, and the companies we have been considering do not have permeable pavers as part of their programs — which would put us back at square one, so to speak! Hopefully we will be able to figure something out though. Stay tuned!

Hi! Is there an update on the progress toward that $150k?
Hi Brian
We need a bit more than $100K at this point. We are continuing to fundraise and work with the Alderman and others to fill this gap. Thanks for your interest and please consider helping out if you haven’t already😀

Just FYI, the Venmo donation page is asking for the last 4 digits of the Horner Park Dog Park’s phone number on donations. Could add some friction to getting the donation in if that persists/isn’t on this page.
Thank you for bringing to our attention! Will work on a fix.
