Throw us a bone!

We are now fundraising for Phase III, which will include the canine artificial turf play fields, outcropping stone, mulch, and other landscaping features.

In addition, continued maintenance for the fencing, dog-safe mulch, and anything else that might come up is funded by the dog park itself and not the Chicago Park District.

As a subcommittee of the Horner Park Advisory Council, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your donations to the Horner Park Dog-Friendly Area Committee will be tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Here’s How to Donate:

Contact the 33rd Ward’s Alderman

Menu funds are aldermanic discretionary funds used for neighborhood improvement within each ward. Contacting the 33rd Ward alderman (email: info@33rdward.org) and expressing your desire to have some menu funds go towards completion of the dog park would give us a big step towards final fundraising.

  1. Idea for donation:
Selling engraved pavers like they have at Wrigley Field? Will help pay for the pavers you are already planning to install in Phase 2 and will enable people to memorialize their pets/loved ones at the park.

    1. We have been looking into this and hope that it’s an option for us! It depends on what the parks district will allow us to do.

    2. Thanks for the great idea Samantha! This is something that we have been talking about for awhile and have already begun looking into. Unfortunately, we cannot start the process until we have approved construction drawings. We may need to install permeable pavers, and the companies we have been considering do not have permeable pavers as part of their programs — which would put us back at square one, so to speak! Hopefully we will be able to figure something out though. Stay tuned!

      1. I also like the engraved paver idea. If permeable pavers are desired, what about alternating engraved and permeable pavers?

Folks like to “get” something in return and pavers can draw larger contributions.

    1. Hi Brian

We need a bit more than $100K at this point. We are continuing to fundraise and work with the Alderman and others to fill this gap. Thanks for your interest and please consider helping out if you haven’t already😀

  2. Just FYI, the Venmo donation page is asking for the last 4 digits of the Horner Park Dog Park’s phone number on donations. Could add some friction to getting the donation in if that persists/isn’t on this page.
